Matthew Rodriguez 10/10/18 Period 6      This relates to Gilgamesh because he went on a journey to find immortality. He journey long because he had one question "Must I die too?". He wanted to find Uta-napishti to learn the secret about life and death.      What prompts Gilgamesh to confront his own mortality is Endiku's death. After he died it was said he was tormented by one question "Must I die too?".

Matthew Rodriguez Period 6 10/8/18       The person I blame for Enkidu’s death is the trapper. The reason is because he showed Enkidu to Gilgamesh and lead him to everything. Then in Table Two Gilgamesh invites Enkidu to join him on his journey. On this trip Enkidu helped out Gilgamesh since he knew the woods. Before Gilgamesh killed Humbaba, he cursed Enkidu. In Table Seven the Then Gods of Heaven held a council. it was said "One of the two must die" and then Enlil said "Let it be Enkidu." This was the death of Enkidu. I blame the trapper because if he didn't show Enkidu to Gilgamesh he wouldn't have died but wouldn't have met and done the things he did. The saga of Enkidu answers our essential question because Enkidu wasn't always heroic but he did some things that in the end made him heroic like standing with Gilgamesh and helping kill the bull of heaven and Humbaba with Gilgamesh.

Matthew Rodriguez Gilgamesh 10/3/18 Enkidu and Gilgamesh are alike by how perfect and unmatched their strength was. It was said in paragraph line 3 it states "They thought of Gilgamesh and how he and this wild man might oppose each other. They are different because Gilgamesh was high up because of his unmatched in power he thought he controlled anything and owned everything. Enkidu was strong but wasn't known. He was noticed by a trapper and his son and they thought he could oppose him. Also Enkidu knew the grasslands more than Gilgamesh. This is the similarities and differences between both Enkidu and Gilgamesh.

Matthew Rodriguez 9/24/18 Period 6 What happens in this scene of Harry Potter is that Harry and is family go to the zoo. They are looking at the snake exhibit and trying to wake the snake up. Harry defending the snake tells them to stop knocking on the glass. Once they leave he talks to the snake saying how it must feel bad with people knocking on the window everyday.  The snake then nods his head as a reply to Harry. Harry is now talking to the snake about not knowing their parents relating to the snake that was bred in captivity. That’s when his brother comes and knocks him over and says “look what the snake is doing”. That’s when Harry uses his wizard powers to make the glass not be there and he would fall in. The snake then leaves and thanks Harry. This scene shows supernatural aid because it shows Harry’s power as a wizard. It’s show what Harry can do and what he is capable of. This shows the beginning of Harry’s power.

Matthew Rodriguez Period 6 9/30/19 The main character in Up goes through the Hero's journey because Carl went through some challenges such as being at a old age and not wanting to move out. Not wanting to move out into a retirement home was his call to adventure because he tried to do anything he could to not move. He blew up balloons tied to his house and started to float away. Some other challenges was that he found out that a young boy named Russell was accompanying him without Carl's knowledge. They're relationship goes through a transformation and at the end of the movie they're relationship is like a grandfather and his grandson. This is how Up compares to the heroes story.

Matthew Rodriguez Grade 9 Period 6 A hero to me is someone who saves you in tough times and gives you peace of mind. A hero is a brave person that helps you and puts you before them.  My definition of a hero is someone who is selfless, confident, honest, courage, and brave. Also a hero is someone who makes sacrifices for you and helps you out in many ways. My opinion of a hero changed because I used to think its someone who saves you but now I think they show us examples and their mistakes that we learn from. I think that a hero shows us a path that we should not follow exactly but use as an example. A hero can also show us how to do things and shows us the right thing to do. This is what I think of a hero.
